Lloga - Tiganj: Croatia to assist North Macedonia's European integration process through its experience
Skopje, 9 March 2023 (MIA) - Justice Minister Krenar Lloga met Thursday with Croatian Ambassador to North Macedonia Nives Tiganj, discussing opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries by initiating joint efforts for implementation of projects aimed at transferring Croatia's knowledge and skills in terms of European practices.
 
 
Talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the area of judiciary, as well as building capacities to conduct negotiations on Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights", the Ministry of Justice said in a press release. Minister Loga said Croatia is a good example to follow in terms of fulfillment of concrete commitments in the judiciary for the country's EU accession. 
 
 
Chapter 23 is one of the most extensive and complex chapters, and the speed and duration of negotiations in this area will directly affect the negotiation process. The Justice Minister said that in the coming months a joint workshop will be organized where a team of experts from Croatia will transfer their knowledge, experience and skills. An invitation will also be sent to Croatian Minister of Justice Ivan Malenica for an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
 
 
Ambassador Tiganj thanked Minister Lloga for Thursday's meeting, wishing him success in the new post and expressing hope that cooperation will continue in the coming period. Tiganj pointed out that Croatia and North Macedonia have no open issues, and have implemented a number of joint projects. Tiganj invited Lloga to visit Croatia and attend a conference on cyber security. Lloga and Tiganj also discussed the legislative agenda, the situation in prisons, fight against organized crime and corruption, and the screening among other, reads the press release.
