Skopje, 3 April 2023 (MIA) — Justice Minister Krenar Lloga met Monday with State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption head Biljana Ivanovska and her deputy Katica Nikolovska to discuss their cooperation in the fight against corruption as well as the need of mechanisms for its prevention, according to the Ministry of Justice in a press release.

Meeting participants noted the necessity of introducing control mechanisms for supervising the judiciary and holding stakeholders responsible, the release says.

"At the meeting, views were exchanged about strengthening the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption's role and expanding its competences as well as the need to strengthen its financial independence and human resources," the release adds.

Minister Lloga said the Ministry of Justice would consider introducing legal obligations for submitting questionnaires to several categories of citizens not covered by the existing legislation. mr/
