Lloga: Disrespecting country’s constitutional name makes Siljanovska-Davkova's oath null and void

Skopje, 12 May 2024 (MIA) - In a reaction to Sunday’s inauguration of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, Justice Minister Krenar Lloga said Siljanovska-Davkova failed to respect the country’s constitutional name “which makes her oath null and void”.

“The failure to respect the country’s constitutional name makes Siljanovska’s oath null and void. There should either be a repeat of the procedure or the post of president of the country should be assumed by Jovan Mitrevski (Speaker of Parliament) as an interim [president],” Lloga wrote in a post on Facebook which was also forwarded to the media.

While being sworn in earlier on Sunday, Siljanovska-Davkova did not use the country’s constitutional name – the Republic of North Macedonia, instead referring to the country as “Macedonia”.
