LDP-DOM-led movement starts campaigning in Skopje ahead of local elections
Skopje, 27 September 2021 (MIA) – DOM leader Maja Morachanin in a speech marking the start of the election campaign of the DOM-LDP-led movement said the initiative is strongly determined to make changes in all Macedonian municipalities. She vowed that it is time to put an end to making every free area in the cities a concrete area and it is time to offer our generation and future generations clean air. “It’s time to motivate organic food production, it is time to invest more in eco-tourism. It is time to finally digitize the municipalities because we and the generations that will come after us want to live in modern areas,” she told the event. LDP leader Goran Mileski, who runs for mayor of Bitola, said the movement is “a powerful political group of strong individuals who think with their own head.” “The citizens, their interests, needs and demands, will always be number one,” he said, adding the movement’s candidates will serve in the interest of the citizens. Arben Beni Shaqiri, who is the candidate for mayor of the City of Skopje, was promoted at the rally. “As an independent candidate, backed by DOM and LDP, I may not be the wisest nor the smartest candidate, but I am strongly convinced I could be the most honest and most virtuous mayor this city has ever had,” he said.
