Skopje, 8 September 2022 (MIA) - I strongly believe in the success of North Macedonia and I know that unity and good neighbourly relations are the key to our common future in Europe, said the leader of the European Liberals, MEP and European Parliament’s Rapporteur for North Macedonia Ilhan Kyuchyuk, congratulating the country on its Independence Day, September 8. “In the past three decades, North Macedonia has come a long way and you should be proud of what it has achieved in terms of democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law,” Kyuchyuk said. He added that today, 31 years later, he sees North Macedonia as an integral part of the Euro-Atlantic family, and the recent commitments to support Ukraine only prove this fact, especially when the destabilization of the world order is emerging. “You are a valuable member of NATO and you have deservedly started the EU accession negotiations. It's a huge success, be proud of your achievements and keep striving for new ones. Happy Independence Day!” Kyuchyuk said.
