Krushevo, 15 October 2023 (MIA) – The National Federation of Farmers will host Sunday an event marking International Day of Rural Women – October 15 in Krushevo.

The event, which is expected to be attended by 200 women from rural areas throughout the country, aims to unite rural women and raise awareness over their important role in local communities and society.

The National Federation of Farmers said the event is expected to be addressed by President Stevo Pendarovski, Swedish Ambassador Ami Larsson Jain, German Ambassador Petra Drexler, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski. Representatives of institutions and regional organizations are expected to attend the event.

“This year’s event has a regional character as well – organizations from Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro will participate in the event, creating a regional platform by signing a declaration on joint action for the improvement of the economic and social conditions of rural women,” said the National Federation of Farmers.

The event is supported by Swedish organization WeEffect, and the German development cooperation implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The United Nations declared October 15 as International Day of Rural Women in 2008.
