Skopje, 26 March 2025 (MIA) — A solo exhibition of 23 paintings by Kristina Gorovska will open at the Cultural and Information Center.
According to the curator and art theorist Vladimir Janchevski, Gorovska's artworks are colorful yet concise compositions "on the border between figuration and abstraction."
"These paintings are crystallized moments encompassing the full spectrum of human life, as some of their titles reveal: Misfortune, Loss, Love, Sadness, Loneliness, Struggle, Soul-searching, Hope.
"Drawn to look through this prism, not only do we witness her personal journey but also we see the universal struggle of the human condition, from meditations on falling and loneliness, through recovery and rising up again, with hope, to a renewed sense of joy of being alive," Janchevski writes about her art.
Gorovska's paintings reflect "the potential of art to inspire us in developing our sense of care, understanding, support and the ability to see beauty in this complex and fascinating world of ours," Janchevski writes.
Kristina Gorovska (b. 1983 in Skopje) has a degree in philosophy from the state university Ss. Cyril and Methodius. She founded the music band Bernays Propaganda and is a feminist and socially engaged artist. mr/
