Skopje, 22 November 2022 (MIA) – The Government’s policies that are based on the social-democratic principles have resulted in the development and enhancement of democracy, rule of law and promotion of human rights and freedoms. The result of these policies is the strategic goal of NATO membership and start of the EU accession talks, agreed Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and former European Parliament President and incumbent Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) President Martin Schulz, in Skopje on Tuesday. Kovachevski briefed Schulz on the challenges the Government is facing in the Euro-integration process, expressing gratitude for the strong EU support to the start of the accession negotiations and the biggest benefit of all – a fully protected Macedonian language and identity, the Government said in a press release. Kovachevski and Schulz referred to the current economic and energy crisis and its overcoming, as well as the political environment in the country prior to the start of the parliamentary procedure on the constitutional changes.
