Skopje, 2 April 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Ljupcho Nikolovski are to participate at the 55th edition of Vinitaly, international exhibition of wines and spirits in Verona, Italy.

While in Italy, PM Dimitar Kovachevski, Albanian PM Edi Rama and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will hold a trilateral meeting focusing on the Open Balkans initiative, followed by a joint press conference, government said in a press release on Sunday.

Kovachevski, Vučić and Rama will attend the presentation of the wines from three countries at the joint stand "Wine vision by Open Balkan" of North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania at Vinitaly.

The Republic of North Macedonia is participating in this year's international exhibition of wines and spirits in Verona with over 60 types of the best Macedonian wines, in attendance of 14 Macedonian wineries and three top sommeliers.

The Vinitaly is one of the world's most important trade fairs for wine and spirits, taking place annually in Verona, Italy. The event brings together wineries, merchants, sommeliers, wine lovers, and industry professionals to showcase, taste, and trade wines from Italy and around the world.

Vinitaly and the City, Vinitaly’s off-show includes four days of tastings, wine experiences, master classes, mixology, talks, meetings, guided tours and widespread events to discover food and wine excellence.

Vinitaly is aimed at trade visitors from the wine industry, such as retailers, importers, restaurateurs, journalists, and wine lovers who want to expand their knowledge and discover new business opportunities.

Vinitaly 2022 drew over 88,000 trade visitors from 139 countries to Verona, where they found a wide range of offerings from more than 4,500 exhibitors hailing from 41 nations. The focus was clearly on business with wines from all pertinent regions, as well as spirits.
