Kovachevski: Up to Bulgarian institutions to assess registration of Macedonian club in Blagoevgrad
Skopje, 29 October 2022 (MIA) – A privately-funded Macedonian club will open in Blagoevgrad on Sunday and those who want can go there and attend. Regarding they manner of its registration, it is up to the Bulgarian institutions to make this assessment, the same as the formation of the Bulgarian clubs in our country is assessed by our institutions, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Saturday.
PM Kovachevski told reporters that organizations bringing people and institutions from both countries closer should be set up but without the rhetoric that has been practiced for a long period.
“Over the summer, I said that the Ministry of Culture and the Government would submit a request for the opening of an official Macedonian culture center in Blagoevgrad, such as the ones in Sofia, Tirana, Sarajevo and other cities, which foster Macedonian culture and literature that reach citizens who identify themselves as Macedonians,” said Kovachevski.
The PM said he had attended the opening of the BTA new agency office in Skopje as did his Bulgarian counterpart at the opening of MIA’s office in Sofia.
“This is how things should be done. I hope the request over the opening of the culture and information center in Blagoevgrad will be approved, so that both countries can attend its launch,” noted Kovachevski.
