Kovachevski to welcome Stoltenberg, to hold tête-à-tête meeting, joint press conference

Skopje, 21 November 2023 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski is to welcome the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who will arrive on Tuesday afternoon for a two-day visit to North Macedonia as part of his Western Balkans tour. This is his first visit since the country became a NATO member.

As reported by the government press service this morning, according to the agenda, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, immediately after the welcoming ceremony, will hold a tête-à-tête meeting with Prime Minister Kovachevski, followed by a bilateral meeting between the two delegations.

The Macedonian delegation will include Defence Minister, Slavjanka Petrovska, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, Minister of Information Society and Administration, Azir Aliu, and the Ambassador of North Macedonia to NATO, Dane Taleski.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will arrive on Tuesday afternoon for a two-day visit to Skopje as part of his Western Balkans tour.

In the afternoon, the Secretary General will address the Parliament of North Macedonia and will also meet with President Stevo Pendarovski.

On Wednesday, Stoltenberg and Kovachevski will meet in Skopje with the leaders of NATO countries from the region – the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama; the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović; the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić; and the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Robert Golob.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, kicking off a mini tour of four Western Balkan countries. The Secretary General departed Monday afternoon to Kosovo and on Tuesday morning he will be in Serbia.
