Skopje, 1 March 2024 (MIA) — SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski is on a working visit to Rome, Italy, where he will address the Election Congress of the Party of European Socialists at the invitation of PES President Stefan Löfven.

Held under the motto "The Europe We Want: Social, Democratic, Sustainable," the 2024 PES Election Congress is gathering on March 2 to elect a common candidate and to approve the PES manifesto to the European elections in June.

According to a SDSM press release, North Macedonia's Social Democrats' leader will address a session on "Solutions for a Better Quality of Life."

At the sidelines of the event, Kovachevski is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

During his visit to Rome, the party said, Kovachevski will also meet with members of the Macedonian diaspora community in Italy. mr/
