Skopje, 27 March 2024 (MIA) – SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski, accompanied by SDSM Vice-President Sanja Lukarevska and the party’s organizational secretary Mitko Trajchuleski met Wednesday with the cross-party Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) observer delegation.
In a press release, SDSM said the meeting focused on the preparations and positions of the political parties ahead of the coming presidential and parliamentary elections in the country.
At the meeting, Kovachevski presented SDSM’s positions and electoral program for the coming elections.
“Kovachevski said that the SDSM-led Government showed clear determination and made difficult and brave decisions that had a positive effect on the country. North Macedonia became a member of NATO, and accession negotiations with the European Union were launched after 17 years of waiting, at the same time all open disputes with our neighbors were closed. All of this happened in only 5 years of SDSM’s rule, which also coincided with two difficult crises – the Covid pandemic and the energy crisis,” the party said.
According to the press release, the SDSM leader and former Prime Minister said the party would lead North Macedonia to EU membership, while also protecting EU values at home.
