Skopje, 11 April 2024 (MIA) - We attend President Pendarovski's rallies in accordance with the election districts for each MP candidate. When he held the rallies in Aerodrom and Kisela Voda, I even delivered a speech. Tomorrow he will be in Karposh and in Centar municipalities, and whether I will deliver a speech depends on the MP candidate lists and compliance with the Law on Elections, SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski said on Thursday.
In response to a reporter's question after Thursday's meeting with "Macedonia 2025" association representatives, Kovachevski said he follows Pendarovski's election campaign, adding that Pendarovski shares the same vision with SDSM and his views are neither different in terms of the country's strategic course.
"It is Macedonia's EU membership, continuing reforms in all areas of concern and of interest to citizens in terms of the rule of law, the fight against corruption, the economy - a country that should have a higher standard. I believe that President Pendarovski so far leads an excellent positive campaign of which I am also a part, as within my daily activities I am also involved together with other MP candidates and other party activists in promoting both the candidate and his platform," said Kovachevski.
He pointed out that President Pendarovski can absolutely present his platform independently.
"He can do it in the best way because he successfully served as the president of the country for five years. There is a very clear plan and a very clear programme in terms of where should Macedonia be heading in the next five years, unlike his opponent who does not have a programme, we still have not seen it," Kovachevski said.
Asked whether there should be a debate between the presidential candidates, he said they should have TV debates if time permits and if they want to have debates like the one he had with Mickoski.
According to him, Pendarovski will win in the presidential run-off, and the Coalition for European Future will win in the parliamentary elections on May 8.
He said the election campaign was a generally positive one.
"I listen to all of Pendarovski's speeches and I have not heard anyone being attacked. The level should be maintained, and I think there is a certain correct level among the presidential candidates," Kovachevski said.
