Skopje, 23 February 2023 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski told MPs n Thursday that he can't share any details but the investigation into the bomb threats gives "interesting initial data".
"How could the new email addresses be immediately delivered to those who send these false bomb threats?" PM Kovachevski said regarding the latest bomb threats even though the schools' email addresses have been changed.
According to him, it is a matter that will have to be proven, but the fact remained that the Ministry of Interior carries out all procedures applicable in such situations.
Answering an MP question about the hybrid attacks, Kovachevski said the attacks and the bomb threat reports are absolutely related to the war in Ukraine, and practically represent a new way of warfare, which has not been seen on the European continent so far.
"Cooperation with NATO, is absolutely on a daily level with the partner countries. Probably, in the very near future, there will be a visit at the level of Assistant Secretary General, precisely in this area. Our teams work not only with the NATO headquarters in Brussels, but also with partner services in the United States and other countries," Kovachevski said.
He added that the goal is to block key vital systems of the states, then attack systems or facilities that serve a large number of citizens, in order to create panic and unrest, and third, to create a negative environment through misinformation in society itself.
"The Ministry of Interior acts on the basis of procedures, laws and regulations, which are provided for dealing with terrorist attacks, by implementing anti-terrorist procedures with anti-terrorist squads. And, of course, an investigation is being conducted," said Kovachevski.
PM Kovachevski once again urged citizens to remain calm, pointing out that the Ministry of Interior and all security services carry out their functions in accordance with the law and the capacities they have.
