Kovachevski greeted in Belgrade with highest national and military honors 

Belgrade, 31 March 2023 (MIA) – Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski was greeted by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić at a ceremony Friday in Belgrade with the highest national and military honors. The two prime ministers held a face-to-face meeting focused on the overall bilateral relations and the comprehensive and well-developed cooperation between the two countries, said the government in a press release.

“At the meeting, the prime ministers discussed the numerous ongoing projects and agreed on upcoming activities in economy, culture, diaspora and other areas. Kovachevski and Brnabić also spoke about the European future of the Western Balkans, as well as the reform processes and conditions which the countries are striving to fulfill for a quicker EU integration,” said the press release. 

 

The face-to-face meeting was followed by a plenary meeting of the two government delegations, during which several bilateral documents will be signed.

Kovachevski is on official visit to Belgrade at the invation of Brnabić, and is leading the government delegation which consists of Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski, Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski, as well as the Deputy Minister of Information Society and Administration, Aleksandar Bajdevski.

The meeting of the two delegations will be followed by a joint press conference of the two prime ministers, Kovachevski and Brnabić.

Kovachevski kicked off his official visit to Belgrade on Friday by meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić who, in an online post after the meeting, assessed that the relations between the two countries are the best they have been in modern history. ad/sk/
