Kovachevski and Chollet reaffirm interest in deepening bilateral partnership
Skopje, 23 September 2022 (MIA) - On the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met Friday Derek Chollet, an American foreign policy advisor and author, currently serving as the Counselor of the United States Department of State.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, the strategic partnership between the United States and North Macedonia was reaffirmed. It was underlined that it can be seen that North Macedonia progress from an aspiring NATO member to a reliable, equal and capable ally.
Kovachevski and Chollet discussed the current energy transition projects and the environment. Both countries reiterated their commitment to expand energy diversification in the face of the global energy crisis, the government said in a press release.
They also discussed the importance of the United States and North Macedonia to foster cooperation in the field of academic, cultural and professional exchanges.
PM Kovachevski thanked for the continuing support from the US, which since 2019, has invested nearly US$60 million in industry, infrastructure and innovations.
