Kovachevski – Predan: Dialogue with Bulgaria important contribution to development of good neighborly relations
Skopje, 16 February 2022 (MIA) – The dialogue and the positive energy established between the governments of North Macedonia and Bulgaria is an important contribution to the development of good neighborly relations between the two countries, concurred on Wednesday Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Slovenian Ambassador Milan Predan.
Participants in the meeting stressed the need for focus of all political subjects towards constructive policies that enable progress of the country, the government said in a press release.
Predan handed a letter to Kovachevski from Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša congratulating him on his new post, and voiced Slovenia’s strong support to North Macedonia’s European integration.
“We raised the minimum wage, unemployment has dropped, we registered growth in economy, and are resolving issues in terms of the energy situation. We’re taking concrete steps to promote citizens’ quality of life. After the NATO membership, European integration is our other strategic goal, and we are principled in this process, with a focus on European values, mutual respect and protecting the dignity of the citizens,” said Kovachevski.
He expressed gratitude for the sincere friendship with Slovenia, and Slovenia’s strong principled support to North Macedonia in the democratic and integration processes.
Talks also looked at possibilities to promote cooperation between the two countries in areas important for their citizens.
