Kovachevski – Lajčák: Regional peace, stability crucial for speeding up EU integration

Munich, 18 February 2023 (MIA) — The necessity of speeding up the Western Balkans’ integration into the EU, especially North Macedonia’s, was the topic of the Munich meeting between Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajčák.

 

The meeting, according to the government, was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj.

 

Lajčák reiterated the EU’s strong support for the integration of North Macedonia, saying the country was a reliable partner of the Union.

 

They agreed that boosting cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans would greatly contribute to the security and stability of the region. mr/
