Kondarko: Voting by inmates, homebound persons, persons in retirement homes proceeding smoothly

Skopje, 18 October 2025 (MIA) - The head of the State Election Commission Boris Kondarko told journalists Saturday the voting by inmates, the sick and infirm, and persons in retirement homes is proceeding generally without any issues. Materials were distributed on time and the citizens are exercising their voting rights without obstruction, he said.

“So far we haven’t had any complaints or remarks from any municipal election commission or polling station,” Kondarko said.

There was a printing error in the ballots in the Municipality of Novo Selo, but Kondarko said the error has been fixed, and new material has been delivered. “Voting there is proceeding without obstruction, and all homebound voters will be able to exercise their right to vote by the end of the day,” he stressed.

Kondarko said the Commission would publish the first turnout figures around 4 PM, followed by the full turnout figures after polls close at 7 PM.

The SEC head noted that the results of the vote by these categories of voters will be counted after the closing of the polls across the country on Sunday and published after 8 PM.
