Skopje, 1 February 2024 (MIA) — Besa Movement leader and Tetovo Mayor Bilall Kasami said in a TV appearance that his party had discussed nominating Alliance for Albanians leader Arben Taravari as presidential candidate.

In an interview for Radio Television Kosovo on Wednesday evening, Kasami said his party would back Taravari's presidential bid.

"Yes, it was discussed with Taravari for him to run for President and we consider him a suitable Albanian candidate for this election," Kasami said.

The Besa leader said Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Kosovo's Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca, both members of Kosovo's Self-Determination Movement, had been involved in several election campaigns in North Macedonia.

"Now we will introduce some innovations. Representatives of Kosovo's Self-Determination Movement, who are also citizens of North Macedonia, will be part of our united opposition's lists of candidates for Members of Parliament," Kasami said. mr/
