Justice Ministry requests that Judicial Council deliver minutes from Wednesday’s session

Skopje, 27 April 2023 (MIA) – The Ministry of Justice has requested that the Judicial Council deliver the minutes and agenda of Wednesday’s session during which Council President Vesna Dameva was dismissed, in order for the Ministry to collect additional information.

In a press release Thursday, the Justice Ministry said that they are monitoring the developments at the Judicial Council with great concern.

“Even though the Judicial Council is an independent body charged with monitoring the independence of the judiciary, the current events largely affect the citizens’ trust in the judiciary. In order to collect more information, the Ministry of Justice has sent a request to the Judicial Council to deliver the minutes from the 438th session, as well as the agenda of the session. We hope and wish that we will overcome the current situation and that the Judicial Council will be a body that looks after the image of the judiciary,” said the Justice Ministry in the press release.
