Justice Ministry representatives visit Turkish Constitutional Court

Skopje, 9 February 2024 (MIA) – A delegation from the Ministry of Justice visited the Constitutional Court in Ankara on Friday. Meeting participants exchanged experiences and opinions on legal issues of special interest to the courts regarding differences and similarities in competences and challenges, a press release from the Ministry of Justice said.

 

"The meeting discussed the new 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy and Action Plan, which foresees strengthening the role of the Constitutional Court in realizing the principle of rule of law and protection of human rights and freedoms," the release said.

 

Meeting participants also noted that cooperation between the Constitutional Courts of North Macedonia and Turkey was of great importance for the protection of human rights and freedoms.

 

Justice Ministry representatives thanked their Turkish hosts, and emphasized that friendship, mutual respect and cooperation between both institutions would continue in the future. ssh/mr
