Skopje, 9 October 2024 (MIA) - Justice Minister Igor Filkov met Wednesday with European Union Ambassador Michalis Rokas, discussing the legislative agenda, planned judiciary reforms, Judicial Council, 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy, Criminal Code, digitization of judiciary, European integration processes and fight against corruption.

Minister Filkov stressed the importance of the reform agenda for the country which is why EU's support for the country's stability is key, and hope of continuing bilateral cooperation in the spirit of common values.

Ambassador Rokas said that EU enlargement is again high on the agenda, while the rule of law is the most important aspect in the context of European integration. He also expressed readiness to support the Justice Ministry's capacities and announced the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to the country on October 24, 2024, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
