Skopje, 6 August 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska says the Government has decided to keep prices of school supplies at the June 1 level, meaning that parents will pay about ten percent less than the current prices for backpacks, coloring pencils, markers, notebooks and other accessories.
"We took a decision yesterday to keep prices at the June 1 level. This will include all school supplies - backpacks, coloring pencils, markers, notebooks - everything that a child needs for school. On September 1, the price will be the one from June 1, which is surely ten percent less than the current one," Minister Janevska told Kanal 5.
Earlier in the week, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said a so-called "school basket" would be introduced, including all school supplies, while adding they are looking into several concepts related to market prices and options to sanction those businesses that have drastically increased prices over the past period.
