Judicial Council President Crvenkovska meets with EU Ambassador
Skopje, 1 November 2021 (MIA) – Judiciary reforms and other topical issues in relation to the work of the Judicial Council were discussed Monday by Judicial Council President Pavlina Crvenkovska and EU Ambassador David Geer, who was accompanied by his team.
The EU officials during the meeting were interested in the implementation of the strategies and methodologies adopted by the Judicial Council, including the methodology on qualitative evaluation, the methodology on quantitative evaluation of judges, the methodology on establishing the complexity of cases, the human resources strategy as well as the action anti-corruption plan, said the Judicial Council.
Talks also focused on this year’s European Commission report, mainly the part that covers the judiciary.
“It was concluded that certain positive changes and progress were noted and that a lot remains to be done in order the judiciary to be reformed to be independent, unbiased and professional. The importance of timely implementation of the human resources strategy, as well as the annual budget of the judiciary was also discussed with interest,” said the press release.
