Skopje, 24 January 2024 (MIA) – Former chief prosecutor Ljubomir Joveski, who was a constitutional judge candidate regarding which the Parliament said earlier on Wednesday that the proposal has been withdrawn, told MIA it was surprising that the proposal has been withdrawn without stating underlying reasons or giving more details.
"It was surprising, vulgar that the proposal was withdrawn without stating any underlying reasons for it. It is decent to state something. This has caused me damage, if they didn't think they could carry the process through, they shouldn't have proposed me, because I was exposed to unnecessary attacks," said Joveski.
He said he thought the process was over, because nothing had been happening for a year and a half.
"Since the matter was not brought up before the Parliamentary Committee for Election and Appointment Issues for a year and a half now, I thought it was over, i.e. that nothing will happen with the proposal for a constitutional judge, because if they wanted to carry it through, they had the time and opportunities," he said.
Joveski added he was proud to be one of two prosecutors to complete the six-year term, noting that he was currently focused on matters of his profession.
