Skopje, 26 January 2024 (MIA) - The Parliament elected Friday Jovan Mitreski to the post Parliament Speaker by 64 'yes' and 40 'no' votes.

SDSM whip Mitreski will be Speaker until the election of the new Parliament composition after the May 8 elections, replacing Talat Xhaferi, who has been nominated PM-designate in the caretaker government that is set to be elected on Sunday.

The new Speaker was sworn in and thanked Xhaferi for the successful management of the Parliament alongside Secretary General Cvetanka Ivanova.
