January-October exports reduce by 5.5 percent, imports down 0.5 percent: statistics
- The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-October amounted to EUR 6.56 billion, a 5.5-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2023, while the value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 9.19 billion or down 0.5 percent, said the State Statistical Office on Friday.
Skopje, 6 December 2024 (MIA) - The total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-October amounted to EUR 6.56 billion, a 5.5-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2023, while the value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 9.19 billion or down 0.5 percent, said the State Statistical Office on Friday.
Trade deficit in period January-October was EUR 2.63 billion, while import coverage by export was 71.4 percent.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and the motor vehicles for the transport of persons, n.e.s..
According to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, China and Serbia.
