January-August exports and imports increased: statistics
Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) – According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in the period January-August 2022 amounted to EUR 5,396,652,000, a 18.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 7,894,510,000 or 26.2% more than the same period last year. The trade deficit in the period January-August 2022 was EUR 2,497,858,000. The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, the electricity and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals. In the period January-August 2022, according to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria.
