Italy to assist N. Macedonia to improve public administration: ministers
Skopje, 11 July 2022 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Policies Slavica Grkovska met Monday in Rome with Italian Minister for Public Administration Renato Brunetta to agree a series of concrete steps for support of reforms and improving of North Macedonia's administration.
North Macedonia and Italy share a history of cooperation and mutual support and it is in the interest of both countries and of the European Union the cooperation to enhance so as to increase the efficiency of the public administration, concluded Grkovska and Brunetta, said a government's press release.
They agreed that the two institutions as soon as possible should set up a working group tasked with defining further steps for joint cooperation.
Deputy PM Grkovska thanked Italy for the strong support to North Macedonia and the unreserved interest Minister Brunetta showed regarding ways to improve conditions in the public sector.
"To us, it's crucial to improve cooperation as regards transparency in the public sector, anti-corruption policies and digital transformation of the society. In these sectors, Italy has achieved important achievements, which is why support from Italian experts is key," she said.
Minister Brunetta said that it is important the joint teams to prepare a concrete plan as soon as possible under a predetermined dynamic in order results to be produced very quickly.
