Istanbul and Dubai most sought-after New Year’s destinations, interest for European cities dropping

Skopje, 30 December 2022 (MIA) – Despite the economic and energy crisis, the citizens are finding money and ways to ring in the New Year in countries abroad. Due to the affordable prices for New Year’s celebration, Istanbul and Dubai this year are one of the most sought-after destinations, while the interest for European cities is dropping.

The travel agencies organize three-day or four-day tours for Istanbul, which include various New Year’s Eve programs. Antalya is also another sought-after destination in Turkey, said the travel agencies contacted by MIA.

According to the travel agencies, there is also huge interest for Dubai due to the affordable prices offered by hotels, airlines and travel agencies. Some agencies organize eight-day tours divided into four days in Dubai and four days in Abu Dhabi. Others offer tours lasting five to nine days.

The travel agencies said interest is dropping for New Year’s trips to the European citizens as a result of the reduced number of low-cost airlines flying to certain cities and increased hotel prices. However, there are some who can afford to spend the New Year’s Eve in cities like Paris, Budapest, Madrid, Venice, Milan, Rome, etc.

Of the capitals in the region, Serbia’s Belgrade is the most attractive, said the travel agencies adding that the citizens, however, plan their own New Year’s trips to the cities in the region.
