Skopje, 30 April 2025 (MIA) - The Inter-Party Parliamentary Group (IPPG) tasked with overseeing implementation of the Berlin Process commitments and the Reform Agenda under the Growth Plan held a constitutive session at the Parliament on Wednesday. The initiative for IPPG was submitted in October 2024 and aspproved by all parties, the Parliament said in a press release.
At its first session on Wednesday, Parliament Vice-Speaker Antonijo Miloshoski was unanimously elected as the IPPG chair, at the proposal of coordinator of the VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group, Nikola Micevski.
"Miloshoski expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him. He stressed that the establishment of this group is of exceptional importance for the Parliament in ensuring parliamentary oversight and support in the implementation of key reform commitments under the Berlin Process and the new Reform Agenda under the Growth Plan, as strategic priorities of the state. In order to make the group's work more effective, he proposed membership not only of the current 29 MPs, but also of non-governmental organizations," reads the press release.
The Inter-Party Parliamentary Group tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Berlin Process commitments and the Reform Agenda under the Growth Plan will address the degree of realization of the obligations related to the common regional market, public and oversight hearings with representatives of the executive branch, in relation to projects that are part of the objectives of the Berlin Process, by representing the Parliament at regional and international events organized as part of the Berlin Process, as well as other activities related to the European Commission's Growth Plan.
The Berlin Process includes nine EU member states, as well as the United Kingdom, and since a year ago, it includes not only governments but also parliaments. Germany currently chairs the Berlin Process, but the United Kingdom will take over as of June.
