Sofia, 4 June 2022 (MIA) — The arson attack against the Ivan Mihajlov Cultural Center in Bitola is another provocation as part of the mass anti-Bulgarian campaign that started immediately after the club opened, Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova wrote on Facebook, according to MIA’s Sofia correspondent. A large Bulgarian delegation attended the opening of the club. Iotova said the club’s sole purpose was to preserve Bulgarian culture and identity among Bulgarians in North Macedonia. "Only by a fast response by the competent institutions in the shortest possible time to identify the perpetrators will they prove that our western neighbor upholds the rights of Bulgarians as well as all other nationalities," the Bulgarian Vice President wrote in her Facebook post. mr/
