Skopje, 7 August 2024 (MIA) — The Interior Ministry's Bell 412 helicopter has joined the firefighting efforts at the Chashka villages of Papradishte and Oreshe. It has so far made 11 drops of water to slow the spread of the wildfire that broke out in the area on Tuesday. 

According to the Interior Ministry in a press release, the police helicopter has so far dropped a total of over 20 tons of water, bringing under control some of the hot spots.

Serbia's Interior Ministry has also sent a helicopter to help fight the fire, preventing the blazes from engulfing the village of Papradishte, the release says. mr/
