Skopje, 24 April 2023 (MIA) – We are currently analyzing materials and evidence in order to be able to file charges against a located group which sent hybrid threats in the past period, said Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski on Monday.
In answer to a journalist’s question about the group which sent threats through Iranian and Russian IP addresses, the Interior Minister confirmed that it has been located as a result of the activities of the anti-terrorism department, the department for tackling crime and the international police cooperation department.
“Ever since these threats first began, we said that we are working together with international organizations on a daily basis. So, we will be able to share the full details once the evidence acquisition and the drafting of the criminal charges are over,” said Spasovski.
According to the Minister, the end of the procedure depends on the end of the analyses.
“No one can determine how long any investigation could last. The charges will be filed when the analyses are done and when the evidence is secured. It is very important for the charges to be supported by evidence,” said the Minister.
Regarding the investigation over the breach in the Health Insurance Fund, the Interior Minister said that it was a part of a hybrid war.
“That is a hybrid attack, and we are still working on it. This is a very big deal, because, you know, this attack endangered many documents, so we are working on fully closing the case,” said the Minister.
Regarding the number of reported hoax bomb threats, the Interior Minister said that it will be known once the analyses are done.
“I can’t currently tell you how big this number will be because the analyses haven’t been completed. Of course, the investigation of a good deal of these attacks, mainly from January, will be closed. However, let’s wait to see the exact percentage,” said Spasovski, adding that five charges have been filed so far.
