Kochani, 16 March 2025 (MIA) - The Interior Ministry has already detained people in relation to the fire in Kochani which claimed 51 lives and left over 100 people injured, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski told journalists Sunday.

“Some have been detained and are being question, some of the organizers have been injured in this catastrophic accident,” Toshkovski said, adding that an entire team of prosecutors is in Kochani.

Toshkovski assured that there will be accountability and that everyone, “including former and current officials” should feel moral responsibility over the accident. “All normal people,” he said, “should feel moral responsibility”.

The Minister did not say how many people have been detained.

“At this moment, I think the most important thing is to assess all facts and evidence that we need to take all appropriate activities. Let’s express our condolences to the relatives of the victims and remain calm and take all necessary steps to ensure this never happens again,” Toshkovski said.
