Skopje, 29 November 2023 (MIA) – The informal dinner of foreign ministers participating in the 30th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe began Wednesday evening in Skopje, hosted by Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Bujar Osmani.
The topics to be discussed by the delegations of the OSCE participating and partner countries at the dinner are the military aggression on Ukraine and the need for a functional Organization at a time of conflicts and heightened tensions.
The dinner is being attended by the foreign ministers of the US, EU, the EU member states, Great Britain, and OSCE partner countries from the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia.
After the dinner, a cultural program is scheduled for the guests with performances by Vlatko Stefanovski, Teodosij Spasov, and Damir Imeri.
The largest political and diplomatic event held in North Macedonia since its independence is expected to be attended by 76 delegations from 57 participating countries and partner countries of the OSCE.
At the Council, the delegates are expected to adopt a decision on the 2024 Chairpersonship. The ambassadors of the 57 participating countries reached consensus at a preparatory meeting last week in Vienna that Malta should be the next country to take on this role. Decisions also have to be made over the budget and staffing of key positions in the OSCE’s institutions.
