Industrial production down 1.1 percent in October: statistics

Skopje, 29 November 2024 (MIA) - Industrial production in October, compared to the same month in 2023, dropped by 1.1 percent, said the State Statistical Office on Friday.
Industrial production in section Mining and quarrying decreased by 8.2%, in section Manufacturing it increased by 3.1%, while in section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 20.9%.
The increase in section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions, Manufacture of tobacco products, Printing and reproduction of recorded media, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical product and pharmaceutical preparations, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and Manufacture of furniture.
Industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings was lower in Energy by 22.5% and Non-durable consumer goods by 3.2%, while higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 5.4%, Capital goods by 0.1% and Durable consumer goods by 42.8%.
Industrial production in January - October, compared to the same period in 2023, decreased by 3.8 percent.
