Skopje, 25 July 2025 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told journalists Friday that in the coming period the Government will undertake “more robust actions” to improve the country’s demographic outlook, assessing the issue as the main challenge in the years to come.
“I have spoken about this a lot and I will continue to speak, and I will be very vocal because we can reconstruct countless kindergartens and schools, construct roads, but if we don’t have children this will be in vain. Perhaps someone will brand me as a conservative, some will brand me as a person living in the past, but I believe that creating a family is a patriotic act and that is how we can defend Macedonia’s future today,” Mickoski said at an event in Gevgelija.
The PM said he believes the announced measure making the first six IVF procedures free will contribute to this.
