Health Ministry promotes electronic health record module in occupational medicine - step forward towards full digitalization of healthcare

Skopje, 7 August 2025 (MIA) – The Ministry of Health launched on Thursday a new electronic health record module in the area of occupational medicine. According to Health Minister Azir Aliu, the module was developed by the e-Health Directorate in cooperation with the Association of Occupational Medicine Specialists and the Institute of Occupational Medicine.

"The module enables electronic health examination recording that has so far been conducted exclusively on paper, thus making a significant step forward towards full digitalization of health services in this area. This module represents significant progress in the digitalization and modernization of health systems, which brings concrete benefits to all citizens, employers and health workers in our country. The system enables electronic health records for general health ability, for establishing an employment relationship, for health and psychophysical ability to operate a motor vehicle, tractor and work machine, as well as health examinations for owning and carrying weapons," said Aliu.

According to him, this is the first electronic record of such type in the national 'My Appointment' system, which enables electronic health records for issuing medical certificates and monitoring analyses and data in real time.

"We will not stop here in the process of digitalization, but continue in the coming period by creating an e-platform for employers to initiate employee examinations, integration into health records and display in 'My Health', as well as complete digitalization of documents and connection with institutions through interoperability, especially with the Ministry of Interior and the Employment Agency," Aliu said.

The Minister of Health pointed out that the benefits of the module include improvement and efficiency of healthcare institutions and employers, reduction of the administrative burden for citizens and healthcare institutions, secure exchange of information and precise records, as well as easy access to data.
