Skopje, 23 July 2025 (MIA) - Ministry of Health informed Wednesday afternoon that Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi is in stable health condition.

“He was admitted to the Clinic for Digestive Surgery just after midnight, complaining of abdominal pain. Following urgent radiological and laboratory tests, a bowel obstruction was diagnosed,” the Ministry’s press release reads.

The Ministry further states that Gashi remains in hospital care under continuous medical monitoring, and is currently undergoing conservative, medication-based treatment, with no current indication for surgical intervention.

Earlier, Gashi’s Office confirmed that he had been hospitalized yesterday at the University Clinic for Digestive Surgery.

The Director of the Clinic for Digestive Surgery at the University Clinical Center “Mother Teresa” in Skopje, Prof. Dr. Ognen Kostovski, told the media that Gashi was admitted shortly after midnight with severe abdominal pain and discomfort.

“The patient was admitted with an intestinal obstruction. The condition is being carefully observed, and at this stage, surgery is not planned. He is receiving drug therapy and remains under continuous medical monitoring,” Kostovski said.
