Health Ministry: 552,263 citizens vaccinated with at least one dose
Skopje, 11 August 2021 (MIA) — Citizens showed increased interest in vaccination on Tuesday, when 14,928 of them were vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide including the 8,202 people who received their first vaccine dose, the Ministry of Health said in a press release on Wednesday. A total of 552,263 citizens have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose in the country so far and 446,613 have been fully vaccinated. A total of 998,876 vaccine doses have been administered in North Macedonia to date, the release read. The Ministry of Health’s latest figures show that 66 percent of the population over 70; 63 percent of the population over 65; 59 percent of the population over 60; and 48 percent of the population over 50 have received at least one vaccine dose. Walk-in vaccinations are available at vaccination sites nationwide. Medical teams are also vaccinating people across the country, visiting towns and village, while parents of children over 12 can get their children’s vaccination appointments at vakcinacija.mk. The Health Ministry added that vaccines are safe and efficient, stressing that they are the only way to defeat the pandemic. Full vaccination prevents serious symptoms, as well as lowers the chances of getting infected and dying from COVID-19, the press release read.
