Skopje, 20 January 2022 (MIA) – Health Minister Bekim Sali has announced that the Commission for Infectious Diseases will undergo changes. According to him, its composition will be expanded with new professionals from several areas as its members. “Talks are under way and for that purpose, today I had a meeting with the Commission’s president and secretary,” Minister Sali told MIA. Professionalism of the Commission is of utmost importance and to respond to the needs of the citizens is top priority, he noted. “I absolutely understand the public’s interest into what further steps will be made by this body, because the circumstances require strengthened and coordinated actions based on expertise and realistic assessments. The Commission has already high professionals. Next steps will include upgrade and professionalization. The goal is to reduce the number of infections and in general, to protect public health,” Minister Sali said in a statement to MIA.
