Skopje, 24 November 2022 (MIA) – The constitutional amendments, the EU integration process, the functioning of the government coalition, the implementation of the Prespa Agreement and the situation in the region, were discussed at Thursday’s meeting of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi with the Greek Ambassador to North Macedonia, Sophia Philippidou. According to a press release from his office, Grubi and Philippidiou assessed the constitutional amendments as necessary because they are a condition for the continuation of the European path. Grubi stated that the broad consultative process on the amendments should review all flaws of the Constitution and include constitutional experts, media, civil sector, political parties and university professors. “Further integration of the Western Balkan into the EU is an additional guarantee of the stability and prosperity of this part of Europe, and Greece continues to provide support for the completion of the integration process,” said Grubi’s office. Grubi and Philippidou also discussed the functioning of the government coalition, emphasizing that the European path requires a common front supported by all progressive forces. Greece, according to the press release, is strongly committed in its support of North Macedonia through the full implementation of the Prespa Agreement. The situation in the region was discussed at the meeting as well, with Grubi welcoming the agreement reached by Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels and stressing the urgent need of mutual recognition as the only possible solution for the dispute. ad/ba/
