Skopje, 8 March 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for good governance policies Slavica Grkovska met Wednesday with Ghada Fathy Ismail Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), expressing gratitude for the support provided by UN agencies to North Macedonia in processes of crucial significance for economic and societal progress.

Deputy PM Grkovska said her Office has excellent cooperation with UNWOMAN and UNDP, whereas UNODC is a partner in the implementation of the national strategy for strengthening of capacities in financial investigations and asset confiscation.

Ismail Waly expressed satisfaction from the bilateral cooperation, saying North Macedonia has successfully managed the existing challenges, whereas the UN is always here for support and cooperation. She added that the UN projects are significant for the entire region, noting that North Macedonia is a leader in the area in the realization of the organization's projects.

Interlocutors discussed ongoing projects but also future plans for the purpose of enhancing the cooperation between UN and North Macedonia, the Government said in a press release.
