Grkovska - Geer: Good governance policies crucial for EU accession, development of society

Skopje, 17 January 2024 (MIA) - Deputy PM for good governance policies Slavica Grkovska held a meeting on Wednesday with EU Ambassador David Geer, discussing activities implemented by her office and current issues related to the reform processes that are crucial for EU accession and are the basis of the overall development of society. 

 

Deputy PM Grkovska briefed Ambassador Geer on the Government's new transparency strategy developed in cooperation with civil society, as well as on the amendments to the Law on Restrictive Measures and activities to finalize the Law on Confiscation of Property in civil proceedings, the Government said in a press release. 

 

 

Participants in the meeting, adds the press release, also discussed activities related to digitization, a process coordinated by Deputy PM Grkovska, as well as activities of the National Council for Digital Transformation of Society, and the need to create a sustainable donor aid coordination system.  

 

In addition, as regards regional cooperation, Grkovska noted that registration is underway of a regional good governance academy based in Skopje, being established in cooperation and with the support of the Council of Europe.
