Grkovska – Philippidou: Digital transformation a priority for North Macedonia and Greece

Skopje, 24 February 2023 (MIA) – Digital transformation is a priority for both North Macedonia and Greece, and the exchange of experiences significantly contributes to the whole process, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, and the new Greek Ambassador to North Macedonia, Sophia Philippidou, concluded on Friday.

Deputy PM Grkovska introduced Ambassador Philippidou to the work of her Office and the key processes based on three pillars – digital transformation of society, anti-corruption policies, as well as the creation of professional, transparent, responsible and accountable institutions.

Grkovska and Philippidou spoke about intensifying and deepening the cooperation between the two countries, but also the exchange of experiences and expertise in the area of digital transformation of society and anti-corruption policies.

Ambassador Philippidou said the digital transformation of society is very important for a successful tackling of corruption, but also for the improvement of the efficiency of the institutions.

According to Grkovska's Office, the Deputy PM and the Ambassador also discussed the possibility of exchanging experiences, both in terms of the digital transformation processes, but also in terms of the mechanisms for preventing and detecting financial crime.

Deputy PM Grkovska presented the future activities of her Office in the field of youth cooperation and the civil sector, which are key in establishing democratic processes, and emphasized the importance of integrity as a key principle in building a democratic and prosperous society that offers equal opportunities for all. ad/ik/
