Skopje, 16 January 2023 (MIA) – Deputy PM for good governance policies Slavica Grkovska held Monday a working meeting with Romanian Ambassador to North Macedonia Monica Axinte.  

Talks focused on possibilities to promote cooperation between North Macedonia and Romania in the area of anti-corruption policy creation, implementing the principles of good governance, as well as sharing useful experience from Romania in the process of accession to the European Union, Grkovska’s office said in a press release.  

Participants in the meeting highlighted the Government’s commitment to sooner start of North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations, stressing their importance for the benefit of all citizens in the country.

Deputy PM Grkovska extended gratitude for Romania’s friendship and support, noting that her office is focused on several projects related to strengthening anti-corruption policies and integrity that will be implemented in the coming period.  

Ambassador Axinte pointed out that the country can expect expert support from the Republic of Romania during the screening process for EU accession.
