Strumica, 20 February 2024 (MIA) - Protesting Greek farmers as of 6 pm on Tuesday are blocking the Evzoni border crossing for entry into Greece. Passenger and cargo vehicles are being let in every half hour for ten minutes.
Slavcho Bogev, head of the Regional Center for Border Affairs "Jug" within the Ministry of Interior, confirmed this for MIA.
"As of 6 pm local time, entry into Greece through the Evzoni border crossing has been impeded due to roadblocks by Greek farmers. The ramps are raised for ten minutes every half an hour and for now we have no information for how long the entrance will be blocked," said Bogev.
There are no delays at the other border crossings with Greece for the time being, but traffic was suspended for three hours until 7 pm at the Medzitlija-Niki border crossing as it was blocked by Greek farmers.
